Its all about pet friendly!
Taking a pet friendly holiday is certainly a learning experience. Many years ago before children we were gifted a golden retriever pup as a wedding present! Yes it was welcome gift unlike the Claddagh clock though whilst I despise it, it still takes pride of place in my kitchen. Anyway in the early days, we hired a holiday cottage with our dog Finn often to the Lake District in England. That seemed to be the best place for dog friendly self catering accommodation. Then we went on holiday with the children and the dog. At the time it was not an easy holiday to find in Ireland but today thankfully and with holiday cottages such as those found at Belle Isle, families with dogs can holiday with a little more ease.
My children are at the stage now where finding a holiday that suits all tastes seems to be a little more problematic. Thankfully we welcome families all the time to Belle Isle and those who know we have pet friendly country cottages can totally relax without cause to worry about their four legged family member.
It seems to me that as a dog lover and parent getting that combination right for the perfect break is crucial and that helps when we are creating holiday packages such as our “And Shep Comes To Stay”. We pride ourselves in the fact that we offer dog friendly self catering accommodation with the perfect surrounds for long woodland walks or a quick doggy paddle. It seems everyone is happy.
Today Finn is sadly no longer with us, three stroppy teenagers make holiday planning a little more challenging so I think I will hide in the peace and tranquility of the Coach House here at Belle Isle!
