Discover Northern Ireland and embark on an adventure complete with breathtaking scenery and historic surroundings when you visit the National Trust Crom Estate.
The National Trust Crom Estate set on the shores of Upper Lough Erne in County Fermanagh can be found approximately 20km from the Belle Isle Estate.
Whether you are looking to enjoy a woodland walk as a family, canoe up the Shannon-Erne waterway as a couple or complete a solo trip photographing the wildlife of Crom, there is something for everyone and a visit to the Crom Estate is certainly not to be missed.
Surround yourself with nature as you walk through woodland walk donning ancient yews and Northern Ireland’s largest area of Oak woodland.
See some of the Crom Estates’ rare sights, not forgetting Crom’s swimming cattle who call the Crom Estate home which is a herd of cows who take part in an annual swim dating back to the 1800s. The cows of Crom swim 100m to Inishfendra to graze on 40 acres of land for the Summer months followed by a September or October swim back across Lough Erne.
Even if you miss the sight of the Crom cow swim, you can enjoy close-ups of various species of birds native to Crom who take up residence in the purpose-built Bird hide. Binoculars are available on request and spaces for wheelchair users make viewing the bird hide accessible for all.
